Initiative for Business and Human Rights

Driven by the motto of Making Businesses Humanly Responsible, Initiative for Business and Human Rights (IBHR) is the first-ever institution in Nepal established to work for the protection, promotion and fulfilment of human rights by ensuring compliance and accountability in business activities.
Nepal intends to graduate as a middle-income country by 2030. The booming business sector in Nepal effervescently finds the need to materialize human rights. Acknowledging this very need, IBHR is working towards promoting business and human rights education alongside awareness in Nepal. IBHR beholds a mission to ensure human rights compliance in business activities, promote human rights friendly business and advocate for socially/environmentally sustainable globalization through research, documentation, awareness, litigation and supervision. IBHR intends to collaborate with like-minded groups, organisations and institutions, within and outside Nepal; besides working with all stakeholders – to bring forth the subject of business and human rights in the mainstream.
